Yellow Speed Racing Pro Plus Racing 3-Way coilovers for the Subaru Impreza WRX STI GDA GDB GGA GGB (2002-2007). They are built for track events and competition, for drivers who want fine control over how the car is damped.

Low-speed compression, high-speed compression and rebound are each adjusted independently, and full-length ride height adjustment lets you set the height without changing spring preload or damper travel.

External reservoirs, either hose-mounted or piggyback depending on the car, add oil capacity so the dampers stay cool and consistent through long sessions. Reservoir canisters are high-grade steel or aluminium alloy with an anodised 7075 alloy base, and the damper bodies are electroplated to resist corrosion.

Installation

The coilovers replace the standard dampers and springs. Set the ride height and spring preload, let the suspension settle, then recheck the height and have a four-wheel alignment carried out. We recommend professional fitting.

Please note: Pillow ball upper mounts make a small amount of noise. This is normal and does not affect performance or safety. Yellow Speed Racing also offer hardened rubber upper mounts (R/U) for quieter running.

How is the damping adjusted?

Low-speed compression, high-speed compression and rebound each have their own adjuster.

What is the difference between the 2-way and 3-way?

The 2-way adjusts compression and rebound separately. The 3-way splits compression into low-speed and high-speed, giving finer control for track use.

Where does the reservoir go?

Depending on the car, the reservoir is either piggyback mounted on the damper or connected by hose so it can be mounted in a suitable place, such as the engine bay.

Can I adjust the ride height without changing preload?

Yes. Full-length adjustment lets you set the ride height independently of spring preload.

Will the pillow ball mounts be noisy?

They make a small amount of noise, which is normal. Hardened rubber upper mounts (R/U) are available for quieter running.

Do I need a wheel alignment after fitting?

Yes. Changing the ride height alters the suspension geometry, so a four-wheel alignment should be carried out once the car has settled.
